Frome & District Pistol Club - FDPC.

Well, there's another year done and dusted. 71 shooters braved the searing heat (and the warm rain on Friday morning) to shoot this years match. With the world cup as 'competition' for the date, we actually suffered less that we thought; but then England were out, so why stay at home !

The theme this year was Police / Fire / Ambulance, and the speed camera, handcuffs, blood transfusion and fireman's hose all caught the imagination - and proved a challenge in their own right to some. 20,000 + rounds safely down range, plus a few more at the end to seal the fate of the speed camera !! We look forward to next year - On The Farm - with trepidation.

Our thanks to all those who made this match possible :

I'd also like to thank Morag Waddell (Wrecker's 'good lady', for those who don't know the name) for all the photos she took. We'll get those online ASAP, either here, or on the shootfastdontmiss site. If you have any more photos you wish to share, please send them to me; if they're big files, I'd appreciate a CD, as I'm still too poor for broadband !.

Congratulations to Layne Chisholm, who won the event this year. However, with only a margin of 1/2 percent over 2nd place Andy Newman, I think next year will prove interesting. Also, congratulations to Phil Stead, who in 3rd place was the highest FDPC member, and gains the coveted Transvaal Trophy.

Also, congratulations to young Aaron Witheridge, who won himself a .22 rifle in the prize draw.

You'll have seen the nice new match shirts this year. If you want one (Polo - £20, Rugby £26.50), please e-mail me  with your order (size and quantity) ASAP !!

I referred to our sponsors above.  When you shop with them (and why wouldn't you ? ), please mention this match. They were :
