FDPC – Shooting Venues

Mendip Shooting Ground

FDPC Members occasionally participate in Clay Pigeon shooting, at Mendip Shooting Ground (MSG), near Wells.

This is a private club, unconnected with FDPC, but which offers an alternative form of shooting, for those that like to try something different. In that sense, FDPC members can shoot at MSG at any time, although you must ring to arrange a private booking. This means you cannot just turn up and expect to shoot at any other time, unless the club has made a reservation. Costs are reasonable and you can bring your own shotguns, although you MUST ONLY USE THEIR LOW NOISE CARTRIDGES.

It's easy to find; it’s about 1 mile from Chilcompton, on the road to Wells (just past the Slabhouse pub).

The venue offers a full range of Clay set-ups, with a variety of trap arrangements. There is also a shop, and a club house, with snacks / refreshments etc.

Please ensure you sign in, and pay the appropriate range fees.

Remember – we are guests at their range. Do not prejudice this arrangement with inappropriate actions or comments !!
